Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited is a private Nigerian company registered in 2011 for the purpose of competing for power generation assets under a competitive bidding process as part of the Nigerian power sector's unbundling and privatization process launched in 2012.
Mainstream emerged with the winning bid for two large high quality hydro dams on the Niger River, Jebba and Kainji, with aggregate nameplate capacity of 1,338.4MW and long-term mean production of approximately 5000 GWh p.a. New management has undertaken a significant turnaround of the assets and operations, and as a result Mainstream is able to declare dividend to shareholders.
